[LWM] Linear Regression
Linear Regression
Introduction
This blog post series aims to be my introduction to statistical learning, how I would learn it if I were to start all over again.
TLDR;
So, here’s how we’re going to do it.
This is part of my Learn with Me series of posts, where I present topics based on the following philosophy how I would learn it all if I were to all over again. I hope you enjoy, and please leave a comment if you have any.

I have slowly learnt that the fundamentals cannot be overlooked, glanced over, or simply perused if you want to really understand a subject intuitively. Imagine if a car manufacturer didn’t focus on the details of your car, but instead chose to rush through the measurement of the circumference of the wires that attach your breakpad to the break system of your car. You would very quickly detest such an manufacturer, if you lived to tell the tale of their neglegence.
Jokes aside, it’s very important to understand, whenever possible, how things work fundamentally, to avoid a fate similar to the our unfortunate driver. This doesn’t necessarily imply that every attempt to sequentially visit topics of a subject in order of dependency that you are guaranteed to understand every concept that you encounter along the way. You will understand some things immediately, but others will take two, three, four, or maybe even a dozen rehashes of the same idea before it sticks. There’s a reason PhD’s take almost a decade to complete- learning takes time.
And that’s okay! Why?, Because we’re here to learn.
Am I qualified to teach you? Who the hell knows! I’m just here to make friends 🙂.
